It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Mazur (Mazurkairtch), 72, of Wilkes-Barre, announces his passing on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, after a yearlong battle with lung cancer.
He was a resident of Wilkes-Barre Township for 49 years and graduated from Wilkes-Barre Township High School in 1971.
Dan worked for The Williams Company (formerly Transcontinental Pipeline), a job that he loved for 40 years.
"Muzzy," as he was known to his friends, was an avid guitar player, enjoyed time on the open road riding his Harley and drinking a Jack and Coke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Mazurkairtch and Florence Sampson Grivner.
Dan is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sheila (Ford) Mazur; his daughter, Danielle Pum; and son-in-law, Brian of Nazareth, his son Nicholas Mazur, and fiancée Tara Cortese of Drums; as well as four grandchildren, Carter, Addison, Trinity and Colby, and his dog, Carson.
Dan's family would like to thank all of his friends and family members, as well as the doctors and medical personnel who followed him closely throughout his journey.
The arrangements are entrusted to the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home. All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Dan's name to the Medical Oncology Associates Prescription Assistance Fund at MOA Rx Fund, 382 Pierce St., Kingston, PA 18704.
