Daniel John Minarik

Daniel John "Dan" Minarik, age 42, of Battle Creek, MI passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at his home. Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Tim Dickinson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home and on Monday one hour prior to the funeral service. Daniel was born in Owosso, Michigan on July 23, 1971, the son of Arnold Rudolph and Dolores Jean (Hinkley) Minarik. Dan graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School in 1989 and from Ferris State University School of Pharmacy in 1998. Dan worked as a pharmacist in several pharmacies in the mid-Michigan area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, farming and was a gun enthusiast. Dan collected old cars and motorcycles. He loved interacting with people. Dan is survived by his mother Dolores and Herb Bucholtz of St. Johns, MI, 2 brothers; Michael and Alice Minarik of Elsie, MI, and Jeffrey Minarik of Elsie, MI, nieces and nephews; Geoffrey, Patrick, Amanda and Ronald Minarik, Allie and River Minarik, close cousin; Amelia Pouch of Battle Creek, MI, cousins; Vanessa, Travis and Andy, 2 step brothers; Peter and Jessica Bucholtz of St. Johns, MI, and Shawn Bucholtz of Washington, DC, 2 step sisters; Kristine and Paul Holden of St. Johns, MI, and Jeanette and Roger Klein of Grayling, MI, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Dan was preceded in death by his father Arnold Minarik, grandparents; Loyal and Florence Hinkley and Rudy and Amelia Minarik and his aunt Kathy.
