Send FlowersDanville - Daniel Dwight Moore ("Dink"), 49, of Danville passed away Saturday (Jan. 31, 2026) at Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center, Hoopeston.
Born on Aug. 26, 1976, Daniel was taken from this world far too soon. Though his life ended earlier than anyone could have imagined, the love he gave, the joy he spread, and the connections he built will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
Daniel was a man who truly never knew a stranger. He had a rare and beautiful gift for conversation - able to talk with anyone, anywhere, and always find something in common. He went out of his way to make people feel welcomed, valued and special. To know Daniel was to know warmth, kindness, laughter and unconditional love. His presence alone could lift a room, and his absence leaves a space that can never be filled. Above all else, his children and grandchildren were his world. He loved them fiercely and proudly, and his devotion to them defined who he was.
Daniel is survived by his beloved life partner and soulmate, Angela McCool, whose love, friendship and unwavering support meant everything to him. Together they shared a deep bond built on love, loyalty and companionship.
He leaves behind his cherished children, Gavyn and Tabitha Moore, Caydin Moore and Teila Hicks, Gage and Taylor Moore, and his forever baby girl, Mariah Moore, who held a uniquely special place in his heart. Daniel also proudly and lovingly claimed Angela's sons as his own, calling Steven Brown and Ethan Brown his sons - not by blood, but by love. Daniel was a devoted and proud Papa to Ruth and Eloise, the two grandchildren who had the great honor and privilege of calling him Papa. They brought him endless joy, laughter and pride, and his love for them knew no bounds. He is also survived by his father, Dennis (Linda) Moore; along with a large extended family who absolutely adored him and will miss him deeply; and his sister, Nicolia (Craig) Stalling. Daniel leaves behind two very special friends, Jason Hicks and Lester Potts, whose friendship was meaningful and lasting.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jose and Eloiza Velazquez; and beloved sister, Crystal Moore, whom he carried in his heart always.
Daniel was a passionate and loyal sports fan, proudly supporting the Chicago Bears, Illinois Fighting Illini and Chicago Cubs. He loved fishing in his free time, finding peace near the water, and cherished gathering around a table to enjoy meals with friends and family. Those moments - filled with conversation, laughter and love - were some of his happiest.
The number of people grieving Daniel's loss is a powerful testament to the impact he made during his life. He gave his heart freely, loved deeply, and showed up for others without hesitation. If you were a friend of Daniel, you knew just how immense his capacity for love truly was.
Though Daniel's time here was far too short, his legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the family he loved, and the memories that will be treasured forever. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to everyone who has shared their love, prayers and support during this difficult time. Daniel's legacy of kindness, laughter and unconditional love will live on through his children, grandchildren and all those who were blessed to know him.
A homegoing celebration will commence at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave., Danville. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will also be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St., Danville.

Total shock to hear of Daniel's passing. Myself (Dylan Smith) & my father (Rick) had always enjoyed seeing him on Friday Night League. Especially whenever we played him and his team. It was never about competition, it was about having a great time, high fives and a good laugh. A very gentle and genuine person.
