In Loving Memory of Daniel Ray Moran November 3, 1949 – November 2, 2025
Daniel Ray Moran lived a life marked by generous devotion, resilience, and quiet strength. Born in Denver, Colorado, on November 3, 1949, to Anna Belle and Theodore Moran, alongside his sisters Kathy Rice, Carol Smejkal, Barbie Markley, brother David Moran and his best friend John Kummer. Daniel grew up with a deep appreciation for hard work, family, and the open road - values that guided him throughout his life. He passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, surrounded by love and his children, just one day shy of his 76th birthday.
A proud United States Army veteran, Daniel served honorably in Vietnam as a radio operator, carrying with him the courage, discipline, and brotherhood that defined those who served. His time in the military shaped his deep respect for service and country - qualities that never left him.
After returning home, Daniel built a long and fulfilling career as a truck driver, spending countless miles on the road and finding a kind of peace in the hum of the highway. He took pride in his work and in the independence and reliability that came with it.
Daniel's true joy, however, was always his family. He was a proud father to Nikki Moran, Kevin Moran, Cyndee Waddle, and Scott Moran, and his heart overflowed with joy as a devoted grandfather to Andrew Moran, Haylee Moran, Tyler Moran, Sara-Ann Waddle, Lucas Waddle, Vivyne Waddle, Kaiden Moran, and Kenna Moran.
Daniel's greatest happiness came from the time he spent with his family-whether it was sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply being present with those he loved most. He was known for his steady kindness, sharp wit, and the unconditional love he extended to everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
His life was a testament to hard work, faith, and the enduring strength of family bonds. Though he will be deeply missed, the legacy he leaves behind lives on in the laughter, love, and memories he gifted so freely.
Interment with military honors will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life at the First Presbyterian Church of Englewood Colorado at a later date. Family and friends will be warmly invited to attend and share in remembering a life so well lived.
