Daniel Morarie Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alabama Funeral Homes and Cremation Centers - Opelika on Dec. 10, 2025.
Daniel Heath Morarie, 46, of Smith Station, Alabama, passed away on November 24, 2025. Born on December 2, 1978, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Heath lived a life marked by service, strength, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.

Heath was a passionate arborist who found purpose and fulfillment in tree work. His love for the outdoors and dedication to his craft led him to share his knowledge generously with others. Many men and women learned the art and discipline of arboriculture under his guidance-an enduring legacy rooted in mentorship and hard work.

Beyond his professional life, Heath was deeply involved in public service. He was Hazmat certified and served as a volunteer firefighter. Trained as a first responder in rapid water rescue, he never hesitated to step into challenging situations to protect and assist those in need. Whether climbing trees or rushing toward danger when others stepped back, Heath embodied courage and compassion.

Heath also had a talent for repairing vehicles and heavy equipment-a skill he used not only for work but also to help friends and family whenever they needed a hand. His mechanical know-how was matched only by his willingness to lend it freely.

Faith played a central role in Heath's life. He accepted Jesus as his Savior at an early age and lived out the principles of Agape love with sincerity. Those who knew him witnessed this love through his actions-his kindness, generosity, and readiness to support anyone who crossed his path.

Heath is lovingly remembered by his mother, Cherin Lynn Cook (Earnest Lowe); sister, Lacey Jeanne Li Casteel-McJunkin (Drake McJunkin); stepbrother, Earnest Andrew Lowe; daughters Amber Leann Morarie (Jessie McKnight)(mother Jennifer Parker), Haley "Sky" Brooke Price (mother Misty Price), and Mariya Lynn Lake (mother Jessica Lake). He also leaves behind his niece Stephanie Isaacs (Gaeb Isaacs) and her daughters Maddy, Evy, and Meadow Isaacs; nephew Stephen Clance; aunt Cheri Tippets; uncle William "Bill" Morarie; cousins Lindy, Faith, Shawna, Danielle, Nathan, Brandi, and Jessica.

Heath's circle of friendship was wide and deep. Among those closest to him were Chad Hobbs-a great friend as well as boss-and good friends Karen Green Laney, Mary Wilhelm White, Kasey Tanton (K.C.), along with many other friends and coworkers whose lives were touched by his presence.

A memorial service celebrating Heath's life is pending at this time.

Heath loved everyone he met and helped countless people throughout his lifetime. His legacy lives on not only through the skills he passed down but also through the love he gave so freely. Fly high until we meet again-may your wings be covered in man glitter!
