Daniel Murphy Obituary
March 29, 1954 - December 25, 2025
Daniel Ray Murphy, age 71, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, with his beloved mother by his side. Born on March 29, 1954, Dan lived a life defined by independence and devotion to those he loved, whether family or friends. Dan was recently diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), and died due to complications of the disease.
In addition to his interest in old muscle cars, Dan enjoyed all forms of motorcycling including hill climbing, dirt biking, trail riding, and street riding. Whether tackling rugged terrain or cruising open roads, motorcycles and cars were a lifelong source of joy for him.
He is survived by his mother, Jane Morgenthaler; his stepsisters, Tracie Morgenthaler Dwyer (Mike) and Trina Morgenthaler Murphy (Joe); and his uncles, Ralph Jefferson (Gail), Lee Murphy (Cheryl), and Dallas Murphy (Sheryl).
He was preceded in death by his father, Hayward Murphy, and his stepfather, Donald Morgenthaler.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan's name to the ALS Association (als.org) or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (t2t.org), in care of Brookside Funeral Home, PO Box 1267, Moxee, WA 98936. Burial service will be scheduled for a later date.
