Daniel Osborne Obituary

WAVERLY Daniel "Danny" Ray Osborne, age 76, of Waverly, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. He was the devoted husband of 54 years to Karen Molloy Osborne and a cherished father to Danette Osborne, Shawn Daniel Osborne, Rueben (Kim) Osborne, and the late Eli Osborne. Danny was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Born on March 18, 1949, in Floyd County, Kentucky, to the late Azzie and Ruby Gayheart Osborne, Danny was a beloved brother to Ramona Jean Lowery, Pam (Roger) Murray, Darla Osborne, and eight brothers: Allan Dee (Jackie) Osborne, Shannon Osborne, Don Osborne, Dennis Osborne, Blake Osborne, Bruce (Stacy) Osborne, and the late Dallard and Leland Osborne. Brother-in-law of Mike (Mary Ann) Molloy, Maurus "Butch" Molloy, Roberta Wolfe and Kathy (Steve) Killsbarger. He leaves behind a large and loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and many others who mourn his passing. Over 55 years ago, when the country went to war in Vietnam, Danny answered the call to serve with courage and honor. He did not wait to be drafted; instead, he boldly enlisted, serving his country with distinction. In the heat of battle, he risked his life to rescue wounded fellow soldiers, often not realizing that the blood on him belonged to others he had carried to safety.
