Daniel A. Paquette, 81, of
Cuba City, WI passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, February 3rd at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in
Cuba City, WI, with Fr. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the St. Rose Church Cemetery in
Cuba City, WI. Family & friends may call on Monday, February 3rd from 9:00 a.m.- 11:15 a.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in
Cuba City, WI. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in
Cuba City, WI is serving the family.
Per Dan's request, attendees are invited to dress casual & wear their favorite flannel shirt.
Dan was born on March 6, 1943, in
Cuba City, WI, the son of Orton and Mildred (Fager) Paquette. He graduated from Cuba City High School in 1961. He married Jean M. Wiegman on June 6, 1964, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He owned and operated the Consumer Oil Corp of Cuba City, for over 20 years and later worked at McGraw Pest Control. Dan loved to fish. You could often find him in his boat on the Mississippi River. Many wonderful fish-frys were enjoyed from the day's catch at the cabin in Cassville. Dan was an avid Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers fan. He was a volunteer fireman for many years. Dan enjoyed fall fishing trips with his boys & buddies, boating, family vacations to his Mom & Dad's cabin on Duck Lake, Eagle River, and later to Big Sand Lake with his family. But most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Dan is survived by his wife, Jean and their three sons: James (Julie) Paquette of Phelps, WI, John (Shelley) Paquette of Stoughton, WI, & Jason (Melissa) Paquette of Stoughton, WI; Nine grandchildren: Josh (Cassie) Paquette, Kayla (Tyler) Collins, Austin (Savannah) Paquette, Cassie Strand-Paquette, Riana Paquette, Megan Reese (Matt), Emily Reese (Ryan), Danielle Paquette & Jacob (Brianna) Paquette; three great-grandchildren: Lydia, Maelyn, Paxton and one on the way; four sisters: Judy Schutjer, Kay Thorman, Fran (Rod) Eastlick & Nancy (Jim) Kieler; in-laws: John Jr. "Jack" (Julianne) Wiegman, Ron (Audrey) Wiegman & Doris Wiegman; along with cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Paquette, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, his parents, his father and mother-in-law, John Sr. & Helen Wiegman, two brothers-in-law, Richard "Dick" Schutjer and Guerdon "Sonny" Thormann, and special aunts, Gen & Aletha.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you Dr. Ram, Morgan - Valve Coordinator, Dr. Willman, Dr. Marks and Dr. Engleman, Christy Willis, PA, MercyOne Dubuque Cancer Center and staff, Hospice of Dubuque, Haudenshield Funeral Home and Father Dave Flanagan for providing loving & compassionate care to Dan & his family.
