I met Dan back in the summer of 1969 at CCSF. It was the first day of football practice and Dan and I were both linemen for coach Alex "pop" Schwartz. Dan was to say the least the center of attention. He was about 3 years older than I was and you could tell he had been around a lot of different people and experiences in his life. We called him Pink not sure why I think maybe because after lets say a few cocktails Dan would get a ruddy look on his face. I met Ted and Connie many times as Dan was always willing to have a party after a game. And his parents were great people. The party was always at Dan's home and believe me was 1969 and things were much different in the City in those days. I only lived about a mile from Dan's house but he went to SI and I went to Lowell so we never ran into each other until meeting up at City College. At the end of the season I had a opportunity to follow Dan up to USF but it was time for me to get away from the City by the bay so I got a scholarship to play football down at Cal State Northridge. I miss those days at City College time seemed to stand still in those days. Even though the war in Vietnam was going on the City was a place were you could meet up with friends and have a great time. Years later my twin sons were playing football for Half Moon Bay High School on game against Terra Nova there was Dan. We had not seen each other in probably 20 plus years but it was like we never were apart. Dan we had some good times at your parties at your house and you will be missed and I dont think anyone will be able to fill the void that you left behind on this earth
