Daniel Pickard Obituary
Daniel "Danny" Joseph Pickard, 61 years of age, passed on January 3, 2026 at John's Hopkins Bayview Hospital.
Daniel was born in Montgomery County on August 18, 1964 to the late Robert E. Pickard, Sr. and the late Patricia (Huntt) Pickard.
Daniel proudly served the Baltimore County Police Department for 21 years, retiring in 2007, with the rank of Officer First Class. Throughout his career, he was known for his Integrity/Fairness/Service and deep commitment to the safety of his community. Following his retirement, he remained active in the Fraternal Order of Police/Retired Officers Association, as well as Security Services.
Beyond his badge, Daniel's greatest joy was his family. He enjoyed sharing stories of children, especially Brady, and was extremely proud of his son, Jimmy Pickard, who recently became a Police Officer of Anne Arundel County Police Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel "Danny" Pickard, Jr. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Stacey (Wagner) Pickard and his seven children: Michael A. Pickard, Bethany M.(Pickard) Flatley, Brittany A. Pickard, James M. Pickard, Brady E. Pickard, stepson Randy A. Fleming, and nephew Derrick D. Wagner. He also leaves behind one grandson, Mateo Irving Rodriguez-Pickard. He is also survived by four brothers, Robert E. Pickard, Jr. and his wife, Nancy, J. Patrick Pickard, Brendan M. Pickard, Ryan C. Pickard and his wife, Emily and a legacy of service that will be remembered by his "blue family" at the department. And the community he protected for decades.
The family will receive friends at the family-owned Duda-Ruck Funeral Home of Dundalk Inc. 7922 Wise Ave on Thursday (01/08/2026) from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, where a funeral service with Police honors will be held on Friday (01/09/2026) at 10AM. Service followed by cremation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Baltimore County Police Department/National Kidney Foundation] in Daniel Joseph Pickard's memory.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
