Daniel P. Pohlman, age 77, of Westerville, Ohio, formerly of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2021 surrounded by family and close friends at his home. He was born on February 7, 1944 in Fostoria to the late Benjamin & Lucille (Cooper) Pohlman. Dan married Janet M. Hull on October 15, 1966 at the Fostoria Baptist Church.
Surviving Dan is his loving wife of 54 years, Janet; son, Tom Pohlman of Upper Arlington; daughter, Heather (Chris) Umbaugh of Westerville; brother, Benjamin (Wanda) Pohlman; and grandchildren, Grace, Chloe, Mason, & Owen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin & Lucille; brother, Leroy; and sister, Georgia.
Dan was a 1962 graduate of Fostoria High School, and then attended Bowling Green State University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He was a Federal Government worker for the Social Security Administration in Bowling Green for 35 years, and was a member of the Gideon's International Association for many years. Dan enjoyed spending his winters in Florida where he attended the Riverview United Methodist Church in Ormond Beach, Florida, and also enjoyed bike riding, playing cards, traveling, and most of all spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Service will begin Wednesday at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Bradner Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio. Online condolences may be sent to Daniels's family at www.barndtfuneralhome.org.
