Daniel Allen Poniatowski, a cherished member of his family and community, was born on November 18, 1958, in Wyandotte, Michigan. He peacefully departed this life at his home in Trenton, Michigan, on December 30, 2025. He was 67 years old.
Daniel was a proud graduate of Trenton High School, class of 1976. Throughout his life, he exemplified a strength of character that made him the cornerstone of his family. Known for his extensive knowledge and intellect, he was regarded as the smartest person that his family knew, often likened to a walking encyclopedia. His family lovingly referred to him as the glue that held them together, always ensuring order and unity among them.
His passions extended beyond his family; Daniel had a profound love for travel. He found solace in the ocean, where he would often retreat to find peace and reflection. However, it was the time spent with his family that brought him the greatest joy, as they were truly his love in life.
Daniel is survived by his devoted mother, Catherine "Ginger" Kane, and his beloved siblings: Dale, Darrin (Lisbeth), and Diane Medina (Greg Donaldson). His legacy continues through his nieces and nephews: Amanda, Alex, Bradon, and Tyler, along with great nieces and great nephews, and other loving family and friends. He will also be fondly remembered by his loyal dog, Buddy.
Preceding him in death was his father, Donald, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms. Daniel will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return.
In keeping with Daniel's wishes, there are no services at this time.
