Daniel Pugh Obituary
He was born on December 4, 1943, in Utica, NY, the son of Leonard J. and Beulah (Roberts) Pugh.
He received his education at Oriskany Central School and was a graduate of Mohawk Valley Community College. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy after serving aboard the USS Rockbridge during the Cuban Crisis. He was retired from the State of New York. After retirement, he worked for several years as a volunteer in the laundry department at Oneida Healthcare Center. He was a long-time member of the Waterbury Memorial Presbyterian Church in Oriskany. He was a member of Oriskany Masonic Lodge #799 F&AM, Valley of Utica Scottish Rite, and Ziyara Shrine Temple, Utica, NY, and a member of the Parkhurst American Legion Post #1448 in Oriskany.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Joan (Braisted) Kissel.
He is survived by a brother, Leonard (Dolores) Pugh, of Oriskany and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main St., Whitesboro, on Tuesday, November 18th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Masonic services will begin at 7:00 p.m., immediately followed by a memorial service. Graveside services will be held at the Oriskany Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Ziyara Shriners Hospital Transportation Fund, 8290 Halsey Rd., Whitesboro, NY 13492.
