Daniel Clarke Purcell, a beloved son, father, and friend, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Community Hospice Inpatient Center, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and a profound impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Born on January 12, 1974, in Columbus, Ohio, Daniel grew to be a warm and outgoing individual, known for his generous spirit and infectious smile.
Daniel was a dedicated professional serving the community as an assistant manager at Family Dollar. His work ethic was a reflection of his character; he approached every task with enthusiasm and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
His academic journey was marked by an associate's degree from Johnson & Wales University and two bachelor's degrees in ministry from Brewton Parker College. This foundation not only equipped him for the workplace but also fueled his passion for writing, enabling him to express his thoughts through many novels, scripts, and poems. An accomplished musician, Daniel could play a variety of instruments including the guitar, drums, bass, trumpet, piano, and even the shofar, sharing his musical talents with friends and family. He was a member of Living Waters Baptist Church, where he inspired others with his faith and kindness.
Daniel is survived by his parents, Lorene and Fredrick Purcell, his sons, Landon Christopher Purcell and Owen Anthony Purcell and the mother of his children, Lisa Lockhart.
The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 8, 2026 at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Glennville Memorial Gardens.
As we gather to celebrate Daniel’s life, let us carry his spirit forward, remembering the warmth he brought to our lives, the laughter we shared, and the countless ways he made the world a brighter place. Daniel Clarke Purcell will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
