Daniel Raya Obituary

Daniel graduated from Hutchinson High School, and worked for various companies such as Collins and Jackson Ice Cream. He was an extremely hard worker, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and cooking (especially barbeque). Daniel also enjoyed raising pigeons and working with his hands as a carpenter. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
On February 14, 1985, he married the love of his life, Renee D Raya. Even after the marriage ended, they remained friends.
Daniel is survived by: daughters, Brooke Curtin (Steve) of Hutchinson and Chelsea Raya of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Payton Huffman, Claire Curtin, Zander Curtin, Lexington Plummer, all of Hutchinson; siblings, Paul Raya (Joyce), Susan Mora (Lawrence), both of Hutchinson, Joanne Lemmon (John) of Fort Worth, TX; and Mark Raya of Wichita; Brooke and Chelsea's mom, Renee Raya; three aunts, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2024, at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Chris Raigoza officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Click Here to View the Funeral Service
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Daniel Raya Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501. To benefit the Daniel Raya Memorial Fund, please make check payable to Elliott Mortuary.
