REITZEL
DANIEL RICHARD
Age 69, of St. Paul
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on April 28th, 2025. A devoted Husband, Father, Papa, and Friend, Dan left a lasting mark in the hearts of all who knew him through his infectious laugh and loving kindness.
Born January 14th, 1956 to Richard and Carole Reitzel, Dan grew up on St. Paul's East Side and attended Johnson High School. Here he found his high school sweetheart and forever soulmate, Pamela Quatmann. They were married for nearly 48 years! A true testament to lifelong commitment and the true power of love. They raised 3 children, and he was a proud "Papa" to seven grandchildren.
After attending auctioneering school in 1976, Dan started Danny's Antiques & Auction Company. To fulfill his passion, Dan traveled across the US and throughout Europe, to find, curate, and restore antique treasures that filled the hearts of many. His famous New Year's Day auction was a true family run tradition that attracted antique dealers and collectors from around the world each year.
In 1986, Dan founded Prime Promotions, Inc., the promoting enterprise of one of the largest antique shows in the Midwest. For almost 40 years, the Antique Spectacular Show & Flea Market attracted hundreds of dealers and thousands of treasure hunters to the Minnesota State Fairgrounds several times a year.
Above all else, Dan was an endlessly proud and deeply loving Husband, Father, Papa, and Friend who walked this earth generously spreading kindness, laughter, and love to all those he met. Many encountered Dan around the golf course where he took great pride in sharing his passion for the game with his friends and family. Dan's spirit for competition carried through to his kids and grandkids and he took great pleasure in watching his children and grandchildren do what they love. Throughout his life he was always present at the hockey rink, gymnastic meets, dance competitions, football and soccer games. The way his face lit up when watching his children and grandchildren is something that will never be forgotten.
Dan was strong in his faith and steadfast to his values. In his final moments, he praised God for the many blessings of his life and the amazing family he now leaves behind.
Dan is preceded in death by his loving parents Richard and Carole Reitzel. He is survived by his loving wife and best "pick" Pam, Son, Joe (Kelli) Reitzel, Daughter, Kristina (Frank) Ticknor, Son, Jason (Tiffany) Reitzel; Grandchildren: Bode, Mason, Max, Lily, Sam, Evelyn, & Leo, Sisters- Leanne (Randy) Tufte & Sharon (Tom) Johnson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 20th,2025 at 10:30am. Visitation starting at 9:00am at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 6133 15th St. N. Oakdale MN. Private interment at Union Cemetery. Luncheon at the VFW in North St. Paul following Mass. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude's.

Danny always had a smile on his face and something good to say to everybody. I was lucky to play youth baseball with him where he was an excellent player and a tremendous teammate. I also loved watching him play hockey in High School. Dan was a friend to all and will be missed by those fortunate to know him. Kindest wishes to Pam and their family. Brian Avery

Pam, I did not know Dan well but I would always know it was him ny his infectious laugh. He always seem to have a big smile on his face. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you be comforted by the memories you have and the love and support of family and friends.

Danny was such a wonderful man, businessman and friend. As I have visited with numerous antique dealers and collectors throughout the region the one comment that always came up was that there was never a time that Danny wasn't genuine and honest. He never mis-represented anything that he was selling. When Joe called me to inform me and then Danny called me to tell me that he was in Hospice I was in shock. Even at this point in time Danny was very happy with what he had done in life, how he treated people and how proud he was of his family. What a loss to have someone like this taken from us but God must have a bigger plan for him. Danny, we will all miss you, and your infectuous smile, for the rest of our lives. I look forward to the day we meet again my friend.

Pam, Sharon and Reitzel family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Dan was a great guy with an infectious laugh and easy smile. I have a special memory of him from Jr High. A friend and I wanted to see Sly and the Family Stone and decided we'd try to raise money for tix by collecting spare change. Dan almost single handedly gave us enough to purchase tix for approx $8, then S&FS canceled! Not sure if we gave the money back, but knowing Dan he probably laughed the whole thing off. He was kind and generous.

Pam, you were an early play mate at the age of 4 or 5 as our moms continued a friendship from Johnson High, where our four parents graduated from. My heart breaks for you. You and Dan made a lovely couple. Forty eight years is a testament to deep love and commitment. You're blessed!

Sharon, I am sorry for your loss also. We met years ago when you painted the interiors of two separate homes of ours. Brothers hold a special place in our hearts. I am sorry you had to say goodbye to, Dan, so soon.

I hope you all find comfort in the love you shared and the memories you created together.

Much love,
Cindy (Crotty) Forliti

So very sorry about Dan's passing. Although we were not close friends, he was a great classmate that I'd known since 3rd grade. For Pam and the entire Reitzel family, may your fondest memories bring you comfort today and, in the days, ahead.
