Daniel D. Rodriguez, Sr., 79, of Pampa, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024 in Pampa.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Daniel was born on January 14, 1945 in San Antonio to Albert and Georgia Ramirez Rodriguez. He was raised in Hereford. Daniel married the love of his life, Marcella, on April 6, 1976. They were married until her passing 2018. He worked at International Beef Packers for 30 years until his retirement in 2008.
Daniel enjoyed traveling and sightseeing. He also enjoyed listening to music, especially the Hometown Boys, Hank Williams, Sr., and Randy Travis. However, Daniel enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. He loved his grandchildren more than anything. Daniel was a creature of habit and had the same breakfast every day, a cup of coffee and a honey bun (or two.) He got along with everyone he met and was loved dearly by his friends and family.
Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Rodriguez; his parents, Albert and Georgia Rodriguez; and three siblings, Andrew Albert Rodriguez, Ray Rodriguez, and Emma Rodriguez Marquez.
He is survived by his four children, Daniel D. Rodriuez, Jr. of Pampa, Joe Ray Rodriguez of Amarillo, Melinda Rodriguez Hernandez of Pampa, and Yvonne Arredondo of Pampa; four siblings, Freddy Rodriguez of Amarillo, John Ramirez of New Mexico, Victor A. Ramirez, Sr. of Claude, and Stella Villa of Fredericksburg; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members.
