So sorry to hear of my good friend´s passing. As mentioned in the obituary Dan was a superb athlete. What´s omitted, is how good he was at golf. Without putting much effort into his game, he consistently broke 80 at the difficult Brooklawn CC. It was there that I met Dan, and quickly we became good friends. We played dozens of times in the 90s and Aughts. During our rounds, we´d have conversations about our many shared interests. Football, he loved to tell me about the time during high school, when he helped shovel the snow out of mile high, and then got to stay for the game. We´d talk about politics, being among the few Democrats at Brooklawn. He gave me great tips on skiing. We´d talk about investments, he was a wonderful client, always calm, when others were losing their heads, as the poem says. Most importantly he helped me greatly, when out of the blue, I developed type 1 diabetes in 1992. He reassured me I´d be ok, and put me together with the Dr. who would help me manage my condition. He was about as good an example of a man for others as you will ever find. I will miss him dearly, but also I´m grateful that I new him, and for all the good times we had together. George Murphy

This Surgeon was one of the only ones I knew who didn´t have a god complex or bad attitude. I would see him riding his bike in in the mornings and speak to everyone he seen. Won´t see many more like him. Rest in peace Dr. Rose. May your blessings continue to bless!!

We are so sorry to hear of the death of Dr. Rose. He was such a nice guy and a great cardiac surgeon who saved the lives of so many who had no alternative but to put their trust in his skilled hands. No one could ever say that Dr Rose didn´t live a full life, a life that was all about service to his patients. Our thoughts are with his loving family. May he rest in peace-job well done, Dan.

Dear Rose Family-Dan was a longtime Wesleyan friend. I can´t remember whether he stayed affiliated with the Beta fraternity. At times he shared Class Agent duties with John Wilson. He was a Reunion stalwart. I send the sympathies of his Wes Tech classmates.

Sending loving thoughts to the entire Rise family. Dan inspired me to help in the fight for a cure for PF. Feeling gratitude for having known him, experienced his never ending energy and enthusiasm for life. He accomplished so much, his smile, encouraging words and dedication will be missed. May your loving, fun memories bring you peace. Much love to all of you from our family in Rochester, NY. He will forever be remembered by us. Cindy Chandler
