Daniel “Popo” Salas
Sunrise 12/26/48 Sunset 01/02/26A devoted husband, father, POPO, brother, and uncle will be honored in a “Celebration of Life” on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Accelerate Church, 4400 Crockett Street.
Daniel was born on December 6, 1948, to his parents, Ysmael and Maria Luna Salas.
He married the love of his life, Lynda Olivarez, in Goodland, Kansas, on December 23, 1974. Daniel adored Lynda—she was his reason for being, his everything—and he cherished every moment they spent together, no matter where they were.The only devotion greater than his love for Lynda was his devotion to the Lord. Daniel was truly a man of God and was a member of Accelerate Church, where he joyfully shared his faith with everyone he met. Known for his hearty laugh, love of dancing, and remarkable ability to build almost anything, Daniel lived life with purpose and joy. He could often be found with a cup of coffee in hand, always ready to share the love of God and encourage those around him.
He cherished the role of Popo to his grandchildren and great grandchildren by blood and by love.
He was proceeded in death by his late parents Ysmael Davila Salas and Maria Luna Salas; brother Samuel Salas; sisters Estefania “Fannie” Salas Hernandez, Lilly Vargas, Sylvia “Blanca” Garza, Linda “Mode” Rios, Olivia Salas , Granddaughter Ericka Jo Olivarez, Grandson Elijah Santiago’s, Granddaughter Alexis “Lexi” Lopez, Grandson Lawerence Hart.
Daniel leaves behind his wife Lynda Salas; two sons, David Edward Salas and his wife Alice and Danny “Bebo” Salas; four daughters, Denice Salas, Libby Kelley and husband Kenneth, Jolene Santiago, and Kasie Salas and her husband Cedric; and many grandkids and great grandkids.
