Daniel Sheehy Obituary
Daniel J. Sheehy passed away peacefully shortly before his 90th birthday on September 17, 2025.
Beloved husband for 65 years of Patricia (nee Reilly); Loving father of John, Robert (Amy), Joseph (Jeanine); Cherished grandfather of Colleen, Aidan, Ally, Connor, Kyle, Liam (Sydni) and future great-grandfather of Liam and Sydni's son due in January; Fond brother of Joan (Nino) Teresi; Dear son of the late Daniel & Ellen.
Dan was a loyal Chicago sports fan, enjoyed golfing with friends and was an avid reader of books and newspapers. He was a proud father of 3 sons and enjoyed watching them grow up and build families of their own.
He graduated from Quigley North HS in 1955, and worked for the City of Chicago in the Streets and Sanitation Department for 34 years. Dan and Pat retired to Scottsdale, Arizona, where they lived for 25 years.
He and Pat returned to Chicago 3 years ago to be closer to friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will meet Saturday, September 20th, at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 551 N. Rush St., Itasca, for a Visitation, 9:00 A.M. until time of Funeral Mass, 10:00 A.M. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Greater Chicago Food Depository would be appreciated.

Dan was a proud and well remembered classmate of Quigley's class of 1956. The "Deacon, as we called him, introduced many of us to modern jazz and the early rockers. In retirement years we got to know him again at our lunch reunions. My sympathy goes to his wife and family.
