Daniel J. Smith, beloved son of the late Raymond and Nancy (née Newman). Cherished brother of the late Ray and the late Charlie (Jeaneen), Pat, Marty (Maureen Gallagher), Mary Kay, Mark, and Tommy. Devoted uncle to Shannon, Katie, Erin, the late Sean, Ray, Liz, Davey, and Nancy. Proud great-uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Passed away on February 26, 2026 leaving behind a lifetime of unforgettable stories.

Danny "The Dog" Smith was truly one of a kind. If you met him once, you remembered him forever. He lived the kind of life that becomes legend around kitchen tables and bar tops - a thousand stories told and retold for decades.

A proud Navy veteran, Golden Gloves boxer, and longtime member of Cleveland Local 1317 of the International Longshoremen's Association, Danny brought grit, humor, and heart everywhere he went.

Beneath the larger-than-life personality and iconic one-liners was a man with boundless love and fierce loyalty. If you were his, you were his for life, and you knew exactly where you stood.

"Ya know what I love about you, kid? Everything."

He was legendary. One of one. And he was ours.
