Daniel Stuart Obituary

Published by Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services on May 11, 2006.
DANIEL O. STUART JR. Daniel Owen Stuart Jr., age 24, of Burlington, died on Thursday night, May 11, 2006 in Tekonsha Township as the result of an automobile accident. Dan was born March 22, 1982 in Tucson, Arizona to Daniel Owen and Karen Lee (Fowler) Stuart. When he came home from the hospital, he sported red hair with a prominent “roostertail” that prompted his Grandma Fowler to nickname him “Chickenhead”. Much to Dan’s disdain, the nickname has stuck with him, and his instructions to his family were always to not mention his nickname in public! The family moved back to Michigan in September of 1982, and Dan has lived the majority of his life since then in the Burlington area. He had attended school in Marshall, and Tekonsha before entering Union City school system, where he spent most of his school years. Dan played Rocket Football in Marshall, and then played offensive tackle for Union City High School, where he lettered for three years. He graduated from Union City High School in 2000. Dan has worked a construction job for Wayne Morris in Battle Creek at the condominium project at Riverside Country Club on Columbia Avenue. He loved fishing. Dan especially enjoyed what started as a family fishing tournament at Nottawa Lake each Memorial Day. Each year he concentrated on hooking the winner! He also liked to play computer poker and euchre, and trivia games. Dan loved family and friends, and will be well missed by all. He liked to make people laugh. Dan always made the best of whatever life threw his way. Surviving him are his mother, Karen L. Stuart of Burlington, his father and step-mother, Daniel O. and Melissa Stuart of Battle Creek, his brother Douglas (Kristi) Stuart of Battle Creek, sisters, Stacey Stuart of Tekonsha ande Stephanie (Allen Diamond) Stuart of Coldwater; nieces, Amia and Jazzlyn Stuart; maternal grandparents Harold and Bonnie Fowler of Burlington, paternal grandparents Jim and Linda Stuart of Tekonsha, and great-grandparents, Maria Fowler of Albion and Jenney Stuart of Tekonsha; aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Friends may call at Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Sunday 9AM-8PM with family present to greet friends and share memories 1PM to 3PM and 5PM to 7PM. Funeral services to celebrate and remember his life will be held on Monday, May 15, at 11AM at Kempf Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Doner officiating. Cremation will follow services. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the family, in care of Harold Fowler. Assistance with memorials is available at Kempf Funeral Home.
