In memory of
Daniel Tenhagen
July 26, 2021
Thinking about you a lot Dad. I often wonder what life could have been with you still here. It's crazy, I feel closer to you in death than I did in life, I just wish you could've seen me grow into the man I am today. Every single memory that never got to happen goes through my mind every single day, and it never gets easier, but I love you more and more as time passes. I'm sure I'll see you again soon, and I'll tell you all about what my life was like, and how Zeke has been. He's grown up so fast, it almost brings me to tears seeing him turn into a man, and making his own decisions in life. As I'm growing older it almost feels like I'm walking away from you, and walking away from your memory. I don't always let myself get to a point where I can grieve you, but I love you, and I always did, and always will. We never stopped loving you - Zeke, Me, and my Mother all still think about you. I see your face before I fall asleep, and wake up to a framed picture of you and I when I was just a toddler. Your body may be gone, but I know your spirit is in a better place now, and you'll forever live on in my mind, and the minds of all the other people who cared so deeply about you. I understand it all, and I can't wait for the time where I can see your face again, and we can talk man to man, like we never were able to. I'm all grown up now Dad, I'm in school now, job opportunities lined up, and ready to provide for my mother and my brother. I just hope I made you proud, and I hope I turned out to be something you can be proud of. I love you, more than words can describe, forever and always. I'll see you soon.

Krissy & The Boy's,
I want to express my most sincere and heart felt sorrow with Dan's passing. I sit here in my hotel room in Chicago with a heavy heart; tending to union business for the International wishing I could be back in Buffalo with all of our friends, brothers and families.
Dan will always hold a special place in my heart for the things he has done for Local 7.
When he showed up at our doorstep he was unique. He already possessed many of the tools needed to become a boilermaker. I do not mean work skills, etc...I mean a good work ethic, a willingness to learn and true team spirit. Dan exemplifies what true brotherhood means, not by talking about it but living it.
As one of Dan's instructors I want to thank him for his efforts in bestowing the honor upon Local 7 in winning the National Outstanding Apprenticeship Award in 1992. That feat set the bar for all Local 7 apprentices to be the best, thanks to Danny. The Tenhagen family has a very successful legacy to be proud of for all time.
Welder, rigger, union officer, stack rat & brother, son, husband and Dad but most of all, friend; you will be in our thoughts forever.

Kristen, Daniel & Ezekiel,
God have taken another one of his children to heaven far sooner than what we wanted. It's hard to find the right words to help you with your heartbreak, but we were blessed to have known and worked with Dan. God Bless!

Dear Kris and family, Words cannot express the sadness Patsy and I feel over the loss of our Danny. My heart sank when I received the notice of Danny,s passing.
The first time we met I knew immediately knew I was in the presence of truly great man. His work ethic was one that we should all emulate.
He brought national recognition to Local7 at a time when we needed a morale boost. To have known him as a trade unionist was a privileged. To know him a my friend was an honor.
Dan's knowledge of our trade and the enthusiasm at which he worked made every job,no matter how difficult, seem effortless. He will be missed by the entire brotherhood.
He loved you and his boys. They will come to know their dad by the stories and memories we share. Your children will be proud to bear his name.May the love, thoughts and prayers I leave with you and your family help you through this very difficult time. I hope to see you upon my return home.
