Daniel and I attended school together 3rd grade thru our graduation in 1957. We also commuted together at San Antonio College. A friend of Daniel and I, Paul Javior informed of Daniel's passing about a week ago. We had lots of memorable experiences over the many years that were together. Blessed that our Lord allowed him to go to his final resting place.

Dan was by far one of the best men I have ever known. He was a prime example of how every husband, father, and grandfather should be. My deepest condolences to Jackie, Richard, Danielle, Lisa, Jennifer and all of his grandchildren-I know his loss will be felt for a long time.

My heart breaks for you, Lisa, and your family. It was too soon for such a wonderful man to go. He was loved by so many and such a man of quiet respect and grace. Prayers for you all.

Dan, you were one helluva locomotive engineer and a true joy to work with. Though good times and bad, your indomitable spirit kept other spirits flourishing. And, when we lived in San Antonio, you made many BLE picnics memorable experiences with an awesome attitude and lotsa good humor. I will genuinely miss you, Dan, because you were one of many who made working on the railroad a lot of fun.

Dan will be greatly missed and I have nothing but fond memories of him. He and I shared a love for red tractors and he always liked to talk to me about engines since he knew I worked in the industry. I bought a hay baler from him once and he spent a lot of time explaining all its tricks to make it easier for me to use. He reminded me a lot of my grandfather and I always felt happier after talking to him. Our mutual friend Mr. Passano told me he never knew anyone who'd met Dan that didn't like him. That doesn't surprise me at all, Dan was a standout human being who others liked to be around. My deepest condolences to the family.
