Daniel Waraxa Obituary

Daniel "Dan" Waraxa, aged 72, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 17, 1952, Dan was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.

Dan's journey began in the heart of the summer of 1952, born to Joseph and Eleanor Waraxa. He grew up to be a man of great character and charm. Dan graduated from St. John’s Cathedral High School in 1970 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His educational pursuits laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors.

Professionally, Dan dedicated decades to Allen Bradley/Rockwell and RAAB Mechanical, where his expertise and work ethic were greatly valued. He also shared his knowledge with the next generation as a Sheet Metal Instructor at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), a role he found deeply rewarding. His experience as a building engineer for MPS also highlights his versatility and broad skill set. It's clear he made meaningful contributions to each of the roles he took on.

Dan's love story with his beloved wife, Janis, was one for the ages. Married for nearly 43 years, they built a life filled with joy, mutual respect, and an abundance of love. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Alice Waraxa and Nicole (Jeffrey) Reiter, who blessed them with three adored grandchildren, Owen, William, and Hannah. Dan's role as a grandfather was one he cherished above all else, and he poured his love and wisdom into their lives.

He is survived by his loving family, including his sisters and brothers, Catherine Noonan, Larry (Judy) Waraxa, Thomas Waraxa, Beverly (the late Jim) Poetz, and Jerry (Stacey) Waraxa, and he was preceded in death by his brother, the late Gerald Waraxa. Dan's personal interests were as rich and varied as his professional life. He found solace in the blues, which he would listen to with a depth of understanding and appreciation. His passion for travel took him to many places, each adventure creating lasting memories. Above all, spending time with his family was Dan's greatest joy, and he took every opportunity to make each moment count.

Those who knew Dan would describe him as generous, loving, and funny. His generosity knew no bounds, as he was always the first to offer help to anyone in need. His loving nature was evident in the way he cared for his family and friends, and his sense of humor brought laughter and lightness to even the most ordinary days.

Dan's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring strength of family. His impact on the world was as profound as it was gentle, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we say farewell to Daniel Waraxa, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of purpose, kindness, and joy. Dan's memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and his spirit will forever be a part of the lives he has touched.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Dan, you have left an indelible mark on our hearts, and you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Your journey continues in the stories we share and the love we carry forward.

Dan is further survived by other loving relatives and cherished friends.

We remember Daniel fondly, and his words, 'Try and learn something today,' will continue to inspire us.

A celebration of Life will be held at the Greenfield Community Center, 7215 W Coldspring Rd.. on Sunday, July 6th from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm
