In Loving Memory of Daniel E. Wingren, 66, of Hampshire, IL.
We remember the life of Dan - a devoted husband, proud father, and skilled over-the-road truck driver and teamster. Born on May 2, 1958, Dan's journey in this world came to a close on July 17, 2024 leaving behind a legacy that touched countless lives.
On October 8, 2005, he married Debra Lee Wingren (Pulak). They had a son, DJ, now 17, who inherited his father's passion for automobiles and drag racing. A devoted father, he took immense pride in his son, and they formed a strong bond over their shared interests.
Dan was a determined and hardworking man, dedicating his life to the open road as an over-the-road truck driver and teamster. A true road warrior, he found joy in the freedom of the highway and navigated its challenges with skill and tenacity. His career was a testament to his work ethic and commitment.
Dan's love for sports was undeniable. He enjoyed friendly wagers with his friends on Chicago's cherished teams-the White Sox, Bears, and Blackhawks. His competitive spirit extended to the golf course, where he found joy in playing the game and spending time outdoors.
Dan's strength and courage shone brightly as he battled a rare form of appendix cancer since July 2019. Throughout his journey, he demonstrated resilience and determination that inspired those around him.
Survived by his wife Debra Lee and their cherished son DJ, Dan's love and guidance will forever be etched in their hearts. He is also survived by his sister/husband, his older daughter, two sisters-in-law, half-sister, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law/wife, several nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom will cherish his memory. Dan was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Daniel E. Wingren will be remembered for his zest for life, his dedication, infectious laughter, and his enduring love for the road, sports, and golf, and the imprint he left on the hearts of those privileged to know and love him. He will be greatly missed and forever cherished. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
