Danielle Crystal Marczyk passed away on December 13, 2025, after kidney failure due to Lupus. She was 39 years old.
She was born and raised in the
Denver, Colorado metro area, along with her older brother Eddie, and younger sister Melanie.
Danielle was diagnosed with Lupus at the tender age of 10 and spent nearly three decades courageously battling the disease and its relentless complications. Over the years, she endured countless rounds of chemotherapy, multiple surgeries, severe Lupus flares, and innumerable hospital stays. Through it all, Danielle faced her illness with remarkable stoicism, resilience, and quiet strength.
Her greatest motivation to "carry on" was her beloved son, Jeremiah Martinez, age 9. Danielle's determination to live as fully and as long as she could for Jeremiah was a profound testament to her fierce love, emotional strength, and unwavering devotion as a mother. He was the light of her life and her greatest pride.
Danielle found joy in many things. She loved watching hockey and was an avid fan of the wrestler Bray Wyatt. She delighted in all things Disney and Harry Potter, embracing the magic, imagination, and escape they offered. Music was another source of comfort and strength for her-especially songs by Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks, and Jason Aldean. One of her most meaningful anthems was "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten, a fitting reflection of her lifelong courage and determination.
She deeply treasured her close friends, including Tracy T., Farrah S., Jordan S., Heidi S., Jeff C., Jon W., Carnell H., Shonya A., Joe B., Heather H., and the Namaste hospice crew – Patricia, Angie, Michaela, and Jess, and many others who stood by her with love, loyalty, and support throughout her journey.
Danielle was preceded in death by her mother, Wendy Karlin Marczyk; her father, Ronald "Woody" Marczyk; and her brother, Edward "Eddie" Gordon III.
She is survived by her son, Jeremiah (JJ) Martinez; JJ's father Joe Martinez; JJ's grandparents Veronica and Paul Martinez; her sister, Melanie Marczyk; her aunts Stephanie Karlin, Renée Herring, Terry Karlin, Linda Daugherty, Patricia Stevens; her cousins Carmen/Lyle/Benton/Nicole Murray; Uncles Lou and Steve Daugherty, Richard Marczyk; and many extended family members and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Danielle's life was one of endurance, love, and quiet heroism. Though her body could no longer fight, her spirit never stopped. She will be remembered for her bravery, her devotion to her son, and her determination to keep going-no matter the odds.
Quote by Danielle "My life has taught me that material things don't really matter. The greatest things in life are the people I have beside me".
