Danielle Mazzu Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Miller Funeral Services - Houston on Jul. 15, 2022.
Danielle Marie Mazzu, 26, of Houston, Texas, passed away on July 9th, 2022, after a long stay in the ICU. Danielle's family is very proud of the incredible strength she showed during this time, and is devastated by the loss of such a brave and beautiful person. Danielle was born on October 17th, 1995 to Debbie and Darren Mazzu. Ever since she was a child, she loved deeply. She was passionate about standing up for the vulnerable. She insisted on caring for every stray dog she met, and if she could manage to scoop them up in her purse, they would go home with her, just like her sweet girl Annie. Danielle loved nurturing relationships with the elderly. Some of her very best moments were when she was spending time with her Mimi and her Paw-paw in their last days. It was important to Danielle to show kindness and respect to everyone, as she had great empathy for others, especially those less fortunate. Her life long dream was to open a homeless shelter that was also an animal shelter so they could take care of each other. It gave Danielle much joy to lift others up. One of her favorite things to do was her friends' hair and makeup because she said it made them feel better about themselves. Danielle was a member of Second Baptist Church, Houston. She was her mother's best friend and confidante and she will be missed by everyone! Danielle was preceded in death by her Paw-paw, Walter Schwarze; and her Mimi and namesake, Ann Mazzu. Danielle is survived by her parents, Debbie and Darren Mazzu; her Maw-maw, Joann Schwarze; her Poppie, Don Mazzu; her aunt, Pam Lancaster; her uncle, Randy Mazzu; and her many cousins, Darrik and Jennifer Reynolds and their sons Dylan, Jacob and Noah; Kadie and Seth Dornak and their son Walter Shepherd; Hannah and Joshua Rollins and their sons Henry and Harrison; Morgan Primeaux, Zoe and Sylvano Mazzu. There will be a graveside service on August 6th, at 6:00 PM at Whittington Cemetery in Devers, Texas (on Rice Belt Rd). In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Houston Humane Society in memory of Danielle.

I'm very sorry for what she has endured and her eventual passing. May she and her family find peace someday after this tragedy. My heart and prayers are with you.

I met her mother (Debbie) at work, she is dedicated, sweet, honest and loved her daughter with all her might. Then a photo of Danielle that was on her mother's desk, flew to my desk and from there I began to pray for her, I know you are in a better place sweet princess of God.
