Danny "Duke" L. Bloechl, age 77 of Manawa, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at ThedaCare Appleton. Duke was born on January 13, 1946 in Oshkosh to the late Clarence and Marie (Lautenschlager) Bloechl. He married Lynn Schmitz in DePere on July 27, 1973. Duke loved to laugh and had an incredible sense of humor. He was a daredevil and had no fear! Duke served his country in the US Air Force as a helicopter pilot and mechanic. He was a very intelligent man and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his family. Duke was very generous, filled with love and concern and always a lighthearted soul. He loved travelling with his family on vacations all over the world.
Duke is survived by his wife, Lynn; children, Jeff (Catherine) Bloechl, Dani (Mark) Herro, Angela Bloechl, Ali (William) Bloechl and Bee Bloechl; grandchildren, Jesi, Tessa, Nick, Julia, Maiken (the favorite), Dre and Freya; his siblings, Toots Wojhan, Dave Bloechl and Debbie (Jim) Tremble and sister-in-law, Susie Bloechl.
Besides his parents, Duke was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon; sister-in-law, Karen; brother-in-law, Mark Tremble; two brothers, Dennis and Doug and sister, Donna.
The Memorial Mass for Duke will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa with Bishop Donald Hying. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass.
