Danny V. Collins, age 86, of Logansport, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 in Millers Merry Manor.

Danny was born on September 8, 1939, in Logansport, Indiana. He was the son of Teddy and Martha (Moss) Collins. On May 23, 1964 in Logansport he married Judith A. Gallaway who survives.

Danny attended Royal Center High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army for seven years. His service included 14 months on the DMZ in Korea and three and a half years on the Fulda Gap along the border of West Germany and Czechoslovakia. For his service, Danny was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Korean Defense Medal, the National Defense Medal, and the Cold War Certificate.

Danny retired from Local 274 Laborers and Hod Carriers and Leo Brown Construction. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #3790 and a member of the American Legion Post #60. He attended Logansport Church of Christ. Danny loved gospel music, especially the Hee Haw Gospel Quartet. He also enjoyed being one of Santa's helpers during the Christmas season and cherished time spent with his family and granddaughters.

Survivors, including his wife, Judith Collins is; his daughter, Cindy (Bill) Mollencupp of Indianapolis; and two granddaughters, Kayla (Michael Lindenmuth) Hutsell of Rochester, New York, and Meghan (Josh) Warren of Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers; and four sisters. As well as a lifelong friend and special buddy, Dave Haynes.

In accordance with Danny's wishes, there will be no viewing. A private burial will take place at St. John Cemetery in the spring of 2026.
