Danny Ray Garrett
Auburn Community- Danny Ray Garrett, age 69, passed away on November 27, 2025. He was born on March 15, 1956, to Jack Cottlen Garrett and Marine Thompson Garrett.
Danny was a warm, kind-hearted soul who never met a stranger. He had a natural gift for making others feel welcome, and his easy smile and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures: watching his favorite television shows, sipping a good cup of coffee, and spending time outdoors tending to landscaping and flowers. Working with his hands and being surrounded by nature brought him joy and peace.
Above all, Danny adored his beloved Chihuahuas, Rosy and Sugar Baby, lovingly referring to them as his “children.” They were his constant companions and filled his days with happiness. Danny was a member of Crossroads Christian Church. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, humor, and gentle presence will be remembered always.
He is survived by his mother, Marine Thompson Garrett; brother, Barry Garrett and his wife, Angie; sister, Karen Whitt and her husband, Jeff; nieces and nephews, Brandon Garrett, April Reich, Bradley Cox, Jack Hunter, and Kailyn Williams; a host of great-nieces and nephews; and special friend, Renee Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Cottlen Garrett; sister, Glenda Cooper; and grandparents, Madie Hall, Carlos Thompson, and Addie Lee Thompson.
Visitation will be 12 p.m. until service time Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Bro. Kenneth Lesley officiating. Burial will follow at Crossroads Christian Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Whitt, Johnathan Smith, Bradley Cox, Brandon Garrett, John Wilson, and Chris Nance. Justin Smith will be an honorary pallbearer.
