Danny R. Hamby, 77, passed away on October 2, 2023. He was born on February 26, 1946, to Jesse and June (Sankey) Hamby.
Danny graduated from Central High School. He worked as a Process Engineer for over 40 years at Sunbeam Plastics/Rexam Closures and Containers (Berry Plastics). He was a long-time member of Free Pentecostal Church of Evansville and volunteered for several years in various capacities at the church. He enjoyed traveling in his spare time, especially Daytona Beach, FL. Danny had a love for cars; he had several Corvettes through the years. He was known to have a passion for working on lawn mowers. Danny was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend. Danny will be missed greatly by all.
Danny is survived by his wife of 58 years Patty Hamby; son Scott (Laura) Hamby; Granddaughter Brooke Hamby; Siblings Sonja (Bob) Pennell, Bonnie Knowles, Gary (Tracy) Hamby; many brother-in-law's and sister-in-law's; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and June Hamby.
Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Thursday, October 5, 2023, and following on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 10am with the service to begin at 11am at Sunset Funeral Home with a burial to directly follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Mike is heartbroken. Both of us really liked Danny. I used to wait on him at Walmart always nice to me and sat with me during mikes surgery
