Danny C. Heitman, age 71, of Wells, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Danny was born November 30, 1953, in Escanaba, MI, the son of Ernest and Dorothy (Stromquist) Heitman. He attended and graduated from Gladstone Area Schools.
Danny was a very handy man. He loved tinkering and repairing small engines. Danny worked for the local pipeline for 22 years. He was also a very social person and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Danny is survived by:
Significant Other: Carole Smart
Son: Steve Heitman
Daughters: Sally Heitman, Jessica Heitman and Jennifer Moran.
Brother: William Heitman
Sisters: Maryann (Bill) Quackenbush, Joan Giles, Kathy (Paul) Soucey
Grandchildren: Carter, Spencer, Jorja, and Quinten Heitman, Aiden Ault, Aubriana and Aaryk Moran.
Close family Children: Tonya Arens, Terri Ann (John) Lavigne, Sabrina (Troy) Fox, William (Stacy) Smart
And 9 additional Grandchildren
And many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins
Danny is preceded in death by his Parents
Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. A memorial service will follow visiting hours at 4:00 PM with Pastor Ben Ramthun officiating. Danny will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Delta County Cancer Alliance. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Heitman family.
