Danny Martinez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home - Camdenton on Mar. 27, 2026.
Danny Martinez, Jr., beloved father, grandfather, and veteran, passed away peacefully at his home in Carson City, Nevada, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born on April 1, 1942, in French Camp, California, to Danny Martinez, Sr. and Gertrude Martinez-Adame, Danny spent his formative years in the Golden State. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a helicopter co-pilot, receiving an honorable discharge in 1961.

In the late 1970s, Danny relocated to Carson City, Nevada, where he became a familiar face in the local community, working for many years as a bartender in the area's casinos.

Danny was an avid sports fan with a lifelong loyalty to the Rams football franchise. However, his heart was always with his family; he frequently cheered on the Kansas City Chiefs as a tribute to his daughter, Yolanda. He also loved watching CBS Sunday Morning each week and talking about the stories with his daughter, Sallie.

Above all, Danny was a devoted father who prioritized staying connected with his children. Despite the miles between them, he made weekly phone calls to his daughters in Missouri for over 30 years, a tradition that served as the heartbeat of their relationship and a testament to his enduring love.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sandra; and his daughter, Teresa.

Danny is survived by his children, Yolanda Terry (Ben), Samuel Martinez, Sallie Davis (JR), Alicia Spencer, Hope Martinez, Denise Martinez, Danny Martinez III, and Felix Martinez; grandchildren, Michael Terry, Lilly Terry, River Terry, Kimberly Martinez, Malcolm Davis, Jonathan Spencer, Nicholas Spencer, Robert Spencer, and Caitlin Rommelfanger; and great-grandchildren, Grayson Counts and Sailor Counts. His legacy lives on through his large and loving family.

We will celebrate Danny's life, and treasured memories will be shared during a memorial service on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.

Memorial services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
