Danny Sieg Obituary

Danny Sieg

November 15, 1952 - October 18, 2025

Danny J Sieg, age 72 of Eau Claire, WI formerly Osseo, WI passed away at home in his sleep on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Dan was born on November 15, 1952 in Osseo, WI, the son of Karen and Wilfred Sieg. Dan and Carla were united in marriage on October 24, 1981 and moved to Eau Claire in September, 2022.

Dan was a lifelong resident of Osseo, graduating with honors in 1971 from Osseo-Fairchild High School. While there he was involved in cross country, football, basketball and golf. He qualified for the WIAA State Golf Tournament as a sophomore and was the Dairyland Conference Medalist as a senior and helped lead his team to four consecutive conference titles. During his adult golf years, Dan was known to hit a very long drive, but oftentimes that long drive was quite a distance out of the fairway, "far and wide".

Following high school, he worked at Interstate Tire, was the manager at the Osseo Golf Club from 1980 until the spring of 1988, while also working as a substitute mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. In the spring of 1988 he was assigned a full time route in Fairchild and remained there until his retirement in August of 2018, just a few months short of 40 years. Once retired, he enjoyed being able to take part in Men's Day each Wednesday at the Osseo Golf Club. He also enjoyed reading, music and watching TV, along with an occasional trip to the casino.

Dan loved attending every school event his sons, Ben and Matt, participated in. He was thrilled to be able to watch them and their teammates participate and win many team WIAA State Golf titles. Traveling to University Ridge to watch all of the talented Osseo-Fairchild Golf Teams was a highlight for him. Following their high school days, he enjoyed watching Ben and Matt play golf at the college level. Many cherished friendships were made through golf.

Dan is survived by his wife Carla, and son Matt (Emily) Sieg. He is also survived by his sister Susan (Bob) Howery, brother Jerry "Jed" (Kathy) Sieg, his younger sister Karla (Jack) Reichert, half sister Sandra (Sieg) Kluessendorf, half brother, Steven Sieg, brothers and sisters-in-law: Mary (Mike) Louie, Maggie Scheffer, Doug (Joan) Scheffer, Jim (Patty Cuddy) Scheffer, Barb (Dennis) Hardwick, and Michaela (Dave) Theiler, special family member, Mary Hoglund (Ben Sieg's fiance') many nieces and nephews, along with several amazing friends. He was preceded in death by his son Ben in 2022, his mother Karen and father Wilfred, his father and mother-in-law, Bernard and Anne Scheffer, and his sister-in-law, Susan Scheffer. He is now reunited with them and is in good company.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church in Osseo, WI, with visitation from 11:00 - 2:00. After the service, everyone is welcome to gather at the Osseo Golf Club to celebrate Dan's life. The family looks forward to hearing friends share their stories about Dan. Entombment will be at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be making a memorial donation to the Osseo Golf Club in Dan's memory.

The family is being assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, WI.
