Danny Waggoner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Leatherwood Memorial Chapels - Brady on Dec. 18, 2025.
Danny Ray Waggoner, age 65, of Menard, Texas, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, in San Angelo. Danny was born on January 15, 1960, in Santana, Kansas, to David Waggoner and Linda Sue (Pollock) Waggoner. Danny grew up in Kansas, attending school in Santana and graduated from Greeley County High School. While in high school, he developed a keen interest in rodeoing. Shortly after graduation, at the age of eighteen, he left home for college and the rodeo life. Eventually rodeoing became his life. He loved riding broncs, bull riding, and horse racing. He was named "Little Britches All Around Champion" and "World Champion Bull Rider." He participated in rodeos all over the western United States for years. He married June Picklesimer on November 3, 2013, in Stanton, Texas. He worked as an offshore welder on oil platforms for over 20 years. He was a jokester and loved kidding around and making people laugh. He enjoyed collecting antiques, arrowheads, and Indian memorabilia. He was a loving grandfather. He has lived in Menard for the last 30 years.

Danny Waggoner's wishes were for his remains to be cremated. No services are scheduled at this time. Friends may view and/or sign Danny Waggoner's online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com.
