Daphne and I have been friends since middle school. She and I graduated together in the class of "1979" Hahnville High School. Daphne and I shared a friendship of over 40 plus years. She and I raised our children together, where she would cook for all 5(her 2 daughters and my 3 sons), I would cook for all 5. Sometimes she would say "neither one of us is cooking today, I raided my mom freezer and we are having leftovers. She was a person if she liked you, she liked you. I also had the pleasure of working with her for the past 3 years at New Orleans East Hospital. I still find myself looking for her car in the parking lot everyday. She will definitely be missed. This one really hit me hard. R.I.H. my friend!!!

I will greatly miss my dear friend with whom I shared many laughs during our lunch breaks at NOEH. She was someone who I could always count on and who I knew had my back no matter what was happening. She loved to hear stories about my dad and adopted him as her Uncle Al. Her passing leaves a great void in my life and those of the many lives she touched. My prayers are with the family that she leaves behind and may she rest in peace.

To children and grandchildren of Daphne.
Your mother love you so deeply and she will always be there watching over and protecting you. When you hear that little whisper that only you can hear, it will be her. When someone says a saying the she used to say, it will be "her" speaking to you. Jesus will be with you due this difficult time. Please lend on Him.

To Tasha and Gina,
I met your mother over 30 years ago when your family moved into the neighborhood. It was during the holidays and Daphne sent me a post card with your family picture on it. When I didn´t respond to it in a timely manner, she rang my doorbell and introduced herself to me. Since that time we became close friends and she was a wonderful person to know. We established a neighborhood watch from her suggestion and she was the most aggressive person to get the ball rolling. At our neighborhood watch meetings she was the one to ask the tough questions to the police about the safety of our neighborhood. From her house´s location she could see everything that happened in the neighborhood. She was not a nosy neighbor but she did not hesitate to let neighbors know what was happening. She knew everyone in the neighborhood and introduced the new neighbors to make sure everyone knew who was in the neighborhood. At our first neighborhood watch meeting, she had a photographer take pictures of each neighbor in from of their house. I found my picture recently and thought about Daphne orchestrating everything move. It brought back so many memories of that event. Thru the years Daphne and the older neighbors have experienced many things. We have been there for each other through the hard times and the good times. Daphne was a source of comfort for many people. Daphne was there to comfort me during the death of my niece, my daughter´s father, the death of my mother and the death of my friend. She was there and afforded me sage advisor. It is hard for the refer to her in the past because she will always be in the present for me. Every cul-del-sac should have a neighbor like Daphne Williams. Our Trade Winds Ct community wii never be the same and every time I look towards her house, it will always be "Daphne´s house." I don´t know if I speak for the other people in the neighborhood, but I speak from my heart. I am devastated by her death. Rest in heavenly peace my friend.
