DaQua Jessie Simmons was born on August 1, 1998, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Tiffany Jackson. He was a very charismatic, energetic, loving young man. DaQua enjoyed helping people and speaking the words of the Lord to anyone who cared to listen. He enjoyed traveling, painting, making jewelry, ceramics, and designing cos-play costumes. DaQua was always there and willing to help family, friends, and anyone who needed help. He loved the church, hanging out with his friends, and going on trips to visit family and different places.
DaQua was raised in Dublin, Ohio, by his aunt and uncle, where he attended Dublin City Schools. He enjoyed singing in the choir, performing in numerous plays, and doing different jobs for the school.
DaQua leaves behind to cherish his memories, Martha and Terry Simmons (aunt and uncle) of West Jefferson, Ohio;
Mary Shaw (his grandmother, who he became very close to) of Flint, Michigan; aunts, Shelia McCrady and Sophia Jackson, an uncle, Derrick Jackson, all of Flint, Michigan; four brothers; three sisters; four nephews; six nieces; great aunts, Velma Thomas of Winnsboro, Louisiana and Sallie Mae Taylor of Flint, Michigan; great uncle, Larry Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.
DaQua was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Jessie Jackson, Sr, and Arlee Jackson, Mable McDaniel and Lee Wilson; grandfather Jessie Jackson, Jr; uncle Melton Jackson; aunt Kenyetta Jackson; great aunts Katherine Dixon and Velma Verline Hills; great uncle Simmie Green and a host of aunts, cousins, and friends.
