Darice Rene Mullens of
Cambridge, MN, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at GracePointe Crossing.
She fought a long battle with cancer all the while keeping a positive attitude and interest in life.
Darice was born on April 13, 1953 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Bernard and Juanita (Bremer) Rezabek. She married Michael Anthony Mullens on April 4, 1988 and devoted her life to Michael who suffered a long illness. He passed away on January 23, 2025 at GracePointe Crossing. She will be buried next to Michael in South Maple Ridge Cemetery.
While growing up, her parents moved frequently for her father's work. Because of this, Darice never had the opportunity to attend a high school long enough in which she could graduate. Consequently, she took it upon herself to obtain a GED while living in Orlando, Florida.
Her favorite jobs were being a hospitality hostess at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL and being a secretary in a Methodist church in Arkansas.
Darice had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed scrapbooking, collecting Christian music, pictures of birds, particularly humming birds, and pictures of dogs and cats. One of her favorite pictures to collect were photos of lighthouses and she had a scrapbook full of them.
She would always plant a vegetable garden when she had the opportunity. Her favorite flower was the Lilac.
In her early 40's, she discovered technology, particularly computers, and became very knowledgeable about them. She was often described a computer savvy.
Darice kept herself involved with life by riding her electric wheelchair, which allowed her to visit her many friends at GracePointe Crossing. She attended many functions held at GracePointe. She loved being able to take her electric wheelchair on the bus and shop at WalMart.
Darice really enjoyed her pastor reading biblical verses to her. She would ask him to print the ones she particularly liked and were meaningful to her. She would hang these on her room walls.
Darice is survived by her son Wayne of Texas and daughter January of Arkansas. She was very close to her niece and nephew Cherie and Mark Mullens. She was blessed with several grandchildren and many other relatives and friends that enriched her life.
Prior to her death, Darice donated many items to people in need, as she did when her husband passed away.
Darice was so appreciative of the care she received from her doctors and nurses who helped her through her cancer diagnosis. She was very thankful for the care she received at GracePointe and wanted each caregiver to know.
There was a bedside memorial and procession of honor at GracePointe for Darice on the date of her passing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial are preferred to the
American Cancer Society.
