Dario Lopez

Dario Lopez, 86, husband of Nydia Lopez, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 1, 2025, at MidState Medical Center, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Manizales, Colombia, on January 26, 1939, he was the son of the late Antonio and Angela (Jimenez) Lopez. He had been a longtime resident of Meriden.
Dario will be remembered as a funny, kindhearted, noble, and friendly man. He loved music, especially "Musica de Despecho" and was an avid fan of both boxing and soccer.
Besides his wife of 40 years, Nydia, he is survived by his son, Ricardo, his wife, Cristina, as well as his two cherished grandchildren, Ricky and Ellie Lopez. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 5th at 12:00 p.m. at St. Benedict of Nursia Parish, Most Holy Trinity Church, 84 N. Colony St., Wallingford, CT 06492. Dario Lopez, de 86 años, esposo de Nydia Lopez, falleció inesperadamente el lunes, 1 de diciembre de 2025, en el MidState Medical Center, rodeado del amor de su familia.
Nacido en Manizales, Colombia, el 26 de enero de 1939, era hijo de los fallecidos Antonio y Angela (Jimenez) Lopez. Había sido residente de Meriden por muchos años.
Dario será recordado como un hombre divertido, bondadoso, noble y amable. Amaba la música, especialmente la "Música de Despecho", y era un gran aficionado tanto del boxeo como del fútbol.
Además de su esposa de 40 años, Nydia, le sobreviven su hijo, Ricardo, su esposa, Cristina, así como sus dos queridos nietos, Ricky y Ellie Lopez. También le sobreviven varios sobrinos y sobrinas.
Familia y amigos están invitados a asistir a las horas de visita el jueves, 4 de diciembre de 2025, de 5:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. en la funeraria John J. Ferry & Sons, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450.
