Darla M. Kopischke, age 91, of Mankato, died on November 9, 2023 at Autumn Grace Assisted Living, Mankato.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Mankato. Memorials are preferred to Our Savior Lutheran Church. Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Darla Mae was born on October 27, 1932 to Willard and Violet (Gilbertson) Schulz in rural Amboy. She attended schools in rural Pleasant Mound and graduated from Amboy High School. She later graduated nurses training at Immanuel Hospital, Mankato. She worked for Dr. B. Niles Batdorf as his office nurse for 22 ½ years. After retiring from nursing, she worked as a tour guide for Waseca Country Tours. Darla also had a woodcraft business with her husband for 13 years called Dar-Lin Craft. She married Linver Kopischke on August 3, 1952 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Amboy. They lived in Alabama a short time while Linver was in service and then moved to Mankato. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church all her married life. Her hobbies included writing, painting, fishing, and traveling.
Darla is survived by her children, Mark (Lori) Kopischke of Eagle Lake and Kristi (Larry) Schulze of Madison Lake; grandchildren, Coty Kopischke, Ben Schulze, Trisa (Nick) Hoffmann, and Taran (Joe) Smith; great grandchildren, Braydon, Kendyl and Bella Hoffmann; brother, Richard of Amboy; sister, DeeAnn Waldron of St. Peter; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Linver in 2011; sister, Gerry Fox; sister in law, Gerry Schulz; and brother in law, Arnie Waldron.
