Darleen Rigden, 77, of Wautoma, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on March 16, 2026.
Darleen was born in Appleton, WI to Harold and Lorraine Klitzke. On October 7, 1967 she married the love of her life, Dan, and together they built a life full of laughter, family, and cherished memories.
In 1995, Darleen and Dan fulfilled a long-held dream when they moved to their cottage on Silver Lake and opened the Dairy Queen in Wautoma. For the next 30 years, Darleen worked side by side with her son, Adam, running the store with pride and dedication. Whether she was decorating cakes, greeting customers with a smile, or lending a helping hand in the community, Darleen built lasting friendships and made countless people feel welcome.
Darleen found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. She loved playing board games with her grandchildren, getting lost in a good book, traveling, and relaxing on the deck overlooking Silver Lake while watching the local wildlife. She will be remembered for her artistic flair, her generous and caring heart, and the incredible meals she lovingly prepared for those around her.
Darleen is survived by her devoted husband, Dan; her son, Adam (Denise) Rigden; and her cherished grandchildren, Stella Rigden, Mia Rigden, Skylar Rigden, and Donavin Rigden.
A celebration of Darleen’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army or a different charity in Darleen’s memory.
