Darlene Baker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Staples Funeral Home - Gardiner on Mar. 31, 2026.
Windsor- Darlene Marie Baker, 66, it is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we are announcing that heaven has gained another Angel on March 21, 2026, Darlene Corliss-Baker passed away surrounded by family at Maine General Hospital.

Darlene's life was defined by strength, creativity, and a deep devotion to the people she loved. Born on May 4th, 1959, in Berwick, Maine, to James and Joyce Corliss, she grew into a woman whose quiet resilience and generous spirit touched everyone around her.

In 1978, Darlene proudly served her country in the United States Army, working in 36K2 Tactical Operations and distinguishing herself as a Marksman. Her service reflected the determination and courage that would guide her throughout her life.

Darlene had a gift for creating beauty from simple things. She loved to crochet, bead and craft art pieces from whatever materials inspired her. Her hands were always busy, and her creations, each made with patience and love, became treasured keepsakes for those fortunate enough to receive them. Her creativity was more than a hobby; it was an expression of her warmth, her imagination, and her desire to bring joy to others.

Family was the center of Darlene's world. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Robert Baker, and her children: Miranda Pelletier, Natasha Baker, Dallas Sizemore, and Ethan Baker. She is also survived by her sister, Denise Pudim, and her brother, Dennis Corliss along with her many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who were a constant source of pride and happiness, each one carrying a piece of her heart.

Those who knew Darlene will remember her gentle laugh, her steady presence, and the way she made others feel cared for and understood. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the love she gave, and the family she shaped, with her kindness and strength.

Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her spirit remains in every life she touched and every story shared in her honor.

A Graveside Service will be held at the chapel of the New Maine Veterans Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta, ME on April 7, 2026, at 2pm. Arrangements and guidance are under the direction of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, ME. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared with the family by visiting the Staples Funeral Home website www.StaplesFuneralHome.com
