Darlene R. Prusa

My heartfelt condolences to each of you, with the passing of your mom. I knew her, your dad, and all of the "First generation Prusa's" from my time spent each summer in Stanton, when my Uncle Fr Ken Carl and my Gramma, "Mrs. Carl" as Darlene would call her, would come over to visit. Your mom would get a big pot of coffee going, and the adults would gather in the kitchen to talk. There was always something wonderfully home baked on the counter that was quickly shared amongst them. My brother Geoff and I would head outside, and you all showed us city kids the ins and outs of a farm barn, running in the fields, etc. We learned to Never run into a corn maze or step on cow pies. Your mom and dad provided so much care and support to Fr Carl as he aged. My family will be forever grateful to your parents for that! I know your mom would always kind of scold him about his dirty glasses, "Fr. how did you get these so dirty?" The frames would be literally caked with whatever he was baking / cooking, and then summer's sweat was stained on the glasses themselves. She would lovingly take them from him, grab a dish towel, some sink water, and clean them up new. I know from the passing of my own mom, that a Mother's Love never leaves us. She is and was quite a woman of faith and will be sending her loving support to each of you, and all the new generations, well into your futures as you age. Robert and Darlene will always be a love story to me, of the power of God, prayer, community, and the Power of Family walking with each other through the challenges of life. I'm sure there's dancing halls in heaven, and this loving couple are at Peace, united with those who've passed, and are dancing on! I send my prayers and thoughts your way, as you walk through your grief and loss.
