Darlene Reece, age 81, of Empire, OK went home to be with our sweet Jesus on January 31st, 2025.
Funeral Service at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Saturday, February 8th, 2025 at 10:00am, Rev. Bruce Humphries officiating with interment in the Walters Cemetery. Visitation on Friday evening from 4-6:00 pm.
Darlene (Scheu)Reece was born to Billy and Wanda (Mendenall) Scheu on October 27, 1943 in Walters, OK. Darlene grew up in Stuttgart, Germany, where her father was stationed with the military, then returning to Temple, OK to be with her grandmother, Lelia, graduating at THS in 1962.
She married Dale Reece on December 17th, 1964 at the United Methodist Church in Temple, officiated by Dr. Kitchen. They made their home at Walters, then settled at Empire since 1973.
Our sweet momma had a deep and unwavering Christian faith. Her purpose in life was to make sure all knew our Jesus. God was the cornerstone of her life followed by her love and devotion to her family. She loved Pap (Dale) with all her heart and her daughters, grandkids and great grandkids were her absolute JOY! Her legacy of faith lives on through her family.
She was an inspiration to all that she came in contact with. When people think of mom, they're reminded of a helping hand, a loving heart and one of the sweetest people. If you knew mom, she was always full of compliments to others, making all feel so beautiful inside and out. Mom was one in a million!
Darlene has been active in her church through the years, teaching Sunday school and Bible school, as well as holding prayer meetings in her home. She enjoyed Billy Graham messages and her daily time with God. She was a member of Corum Baptist Church, Duncan Garden Club, Book Review Club and Christian Women’s Ministries.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Darlene is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dale Reece of the home, 2 daughters, Misty White and Mark of Spring Hill, KS and Christy Martin of Perkins, OK; 4 grandchildren, Taylor Gonzalez and Anthony of Wichita, KS, McKenzie Shirm and Austin of Stillwater, OK, Brandon Martin and Mattlin of Perkins, OK and Tyler White of Wichita, KS; 2 great grandchildren, Sophia Gonzalez and Peyton Shirm. Along with many nieces and nephews and friends.
