Darlene Marie Stauble passed away peacefully to eternal life on Sunday, July 9, 2023, in Sarasota, Florida. She died with her loving family by her side. Darlene was 82 years old.
Born on July 23, 1940, to Herbert and Evelyn Karaus, Darlene grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended Mercy High School. She went on to become a very successful interior designer and helped many clients, friends, and family members make their houses into homes.
Darlene was passionate about her Catholic faith. As a loyal member of St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Cincinnati for over 50 years, she was often seen at Sunday Mass, as well as decorating the church for holidays. She also worked for many years with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati as a liturgical design consultant, combining her passion for design with her deep understanding and love of the Catholic liturgy. The fruits of those efforts can still be seen in numerous churches and chapels throughout the Tri-State area.
Most of all, however, Darlene loved being with her family and friends and celebrating any special day or event. She especially adored her two sons, her niece, Pam Neago, and their families.
To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly is an understatement. Darlene is survived by her 2 sons, Bob (Stacey) Wesselkamper and Jeff (Jill) Wesselkamper, and her grandchildren whom she adored, Colin, Claire, Cami, Ethan and Mia. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ted Stauble, and her parents.
A family Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer followed by an 11 a.m. Memorial Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making a donation in Darlene's name to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at www.lbda.org or by mail at: LBDA, 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn, GA. 30047.
