In Loving Memory of Darlene Treft Suman
December 8, 1963 – September 11, 2025
Darlene Treft Suman, a woman full of life, love, and unwavering faith, passed away on September 11, 2025, surrounded by the people who loved her most. Born on December 8, 1963, to Robert and Orma J. Treft (both now deceased), Darlene lived a joyful and purpose-filled life centered around her family and her faith in Jesus Christ.
A proud graduate of Van Buren High School, Class of 1982, Darlene married her soulmate, Jerry Lee Suman Jr., on July 2, 1984. Together, they shared a beautiful life of over 40 years. In addition to being survived by her husband Jerry Lee, she leaves behind her loving children Stacy (Randy) Marine and Dustin Suman. Step Children Alyssia, Scott & Jacob.
She was a devoted grandmother to Jeremiah, Jerad, Kailey, Makenzie, Morgan, and 6 step grandchildren. A loving great-grandmother to Tayshawn, Kinsley & one step great grandchild. Her family was her pride and joy, and her love for them was endless.
Darlene is also survived by her siblings: Diane (Steve) Hart, Deb Suman, Donna (Ron) Dorman, and Dale (Wendy) Treft. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers Dan and Daryl Treft. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her greatly.
Known for her vibrant spirit, Darlene never missed a family event, ballgame, or school function. Always with a camera in hand, she captured life’s most precious moments often from behind the lens preserving memories that will be cherished forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 16th at 11:00 AM at Trinity Baptist Church. The family kindly asks that you bring a photo Darlene may have taken or one that holds a special memory for you, to share and celebrate her beautiful life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jerry Suman to assist with funeral arrangements and medical expenses.
Darlene will be remembered for her unwavering love, her servant heart, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. Now, in the presence of her Savior, this beloved wife, mother, and grandmother will be deeply missed.
