Daro Garthwaite Obituary
Daro "Topper" Garthwaite, 67, of Milan, Tennessee, formerly of the Keokuk area, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Printy Funeral Home, 917 Blondeau Street, Keokuk, with burial to follow in Montrose Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 10, from 3 to 7 p.m., with family meeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

I first met Topper coming up on 50 years ago when he was new to our unit at Fort Carson, Colorado, shortly before we deployed to Germany. I was truly blessed to have known him and call him a friend and in later years, getting to know his family. Topper was a genuinely good man and I will always remember him for his courage, his wisdom, his kindness, his humor, and most especially for his resilience. My condolences to the family. He will be missed and the world was a better place with him in it. Rest in peace brother.
