Darrel A. Dukes, 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with lung and heart disease. Born on July 3, 1960, Darrel was the cherished son of Benny T. and Alta Faye Dukes. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister, Kimberly Diane Dukes.

Those who knew him well will remember his remarkable gift for storytelling and his vivid recollections of family history, old times, and the people he loved. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh.A man who found joy in the simple and the sincere, Darrel treasured days spent fishing, gardening, and visiting with friends. Darrel was retired but had worked for many years in carpentry.Darrel had a deep and abiding love for the Lord and for the beauty of nature. He often reflected that he was grateful for the blessings around him.
He leaves behind his step-brother, Gaines Cannady, Jr., of Dellwood, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.
