   Darrel Dean Wiese, son of Leslie and Lillian (Klusman) Wiese, was born January 10, 1944, in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up in Manning where he lived most of his life and attended Manning schools.

   Darrel was first married to JoAnn Hike and four children were born to this marriage. Darrel and JoAnn made their home in Arcadia.

   On June 6, 1992, Darrel was blessed with a second marriage, this time with Phyllis Olerich at the First Presbyterian Church in Manning.

   Darrel worked at various places; at IBP in Perry, Dubuque Packing in Denison, as a machinist at Quality Machine in Audubon, as a mechanic and finally as a truck driver for the Aspinwall Coop from which he retired.

   Darrel was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Manning where he served on the church council for 11 years. He enjoyed fishing, and attending car shows and parades with his International Truck. He was an amazing griller, especially burgers and bratwurst. Darrel and Phyllis enjoyed going to the grandkids’ activities and going on day trips with their cherished dog, Butch.

   On Saturday, August 26, 2023, Darrel passed away at Manning Regional Healthcare Center in Manning, at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 16 days.

   Darrel is survived by three children: Donna Pulido of Carroll; Steven (Darlene) Wiese of Carroll; and Kristine Wolterman of Carroll; four stepchildren: Julie Long of Mason City; David (Teresa) Heue of Lytton; Michael (Kalynne) Heue of Radcliffe; and  Deb Grote of Carroll; Numerous Grandchildren: Alysha (Kade), Taylor (Jason), Mckenzie (Nick), Miranda, Jacob, Austin, Riley, Rachel (Jeremy), Ashley (Steven), Justin (Jennifer), Dominick, Joe, Derrick, Nicole, Hope (Andrew), Noelle and Abby; Ten Great-Grandchildren: Elsie, Abel, Kaleigh, Natalie, Lilly, Brian, Walker, Wyatt, Matthew and Abel; and a sister-in-law Jean (Larry) Jons of Westside; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

   Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis Wiese in 2021, daughter Julie Wiese, sister Anna Marie Henkelman, and several in-laws.

The Funeral Service for Darrel Wiese was held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Manning, Iowa.

Rev. Anna Small and Rev. Darrell Mohler Officiated.

Congregational Hymns were “I Heard The Voice Of Jesus Say”, “Here I Am, Lord”, Hannah Kerkhoff, Organist

Recorded Selections were “Wind Beneath My Wings” by Bette Midler, “Just Beyond The Moon” by Tex Ritter and “Never Not Remember You”  by Cooper Alan

Casket Bearers were Lenny Freese, Derrick Wiese, Justin Hann, Taylor Heue, Austin Heue and Jacob Grote
